Definition

Performance:

• How quickly the system can complete a specific task under a given load

Scalability:

• The systems ability to handle increased demand by adding resources
• A scalable system means as we increases resources (CPU, RAM, servers), the total capacity of the system should increase
  • However, distributing nodes requires synchronization and coordination between resources
