Transfer Function

Definition

The transfer function \(g\) adjusts the range of \(\mathbf{xw}\) to be in the domain of \(Y\). (In the GLM Preface, we see the example of how we modelled \(y\) after a Poisson distribution)

This means that we can't select a transfer function independently of where \(Y\) was distributed from. (Which makes sense since the transfer function is the derivative of the \(a(\theta)\))
